Not planned, but truly welcome… It almost sounds like a child is on its way.. No, it is all about a Drentsche Patrijshond Puppy!
Well discussed with mr. Joost Wegink and breeder Helena Lyckoskog owner of kennel Wild Venatrix from Sweden, friday september 16, 2016 Wild Venatrix Sako of Floris joined our pack. We call him Floris. He was born on may 26th in Sweden. And what you get from far away is fresh blood in this case. Floris descends from old bloodlines Van Groevenbeek and Fan’t Suydevelt. We have a bright future in mind for him, but first of all he has to grow up to be an adult male.
Floris is already at home in our pack. Meeting pack leader Geoff went very smooth. In the meantime Geoff is his example in many ways. And because the pack leader says it’s OK, the rest of the pack (Eva, Veerle and Bryn) thinks it’s OK too. Eva sometimes behaves like a foster mom. The other ladies are fine buddies to play with.
Since he arrived Floris joined us going to the fields. You can clearly tell he is used to that as he was in Sweden but comes straight back to you when you call him. As Floris gets his adult teeth we keep it to going to the field for now. Hunting training will start as soon as all teeth are exchanged.
Through this blog, completed with pictures, we keep as many people posted about Floris’ adventures.
