This week no special visits for Floris. A quiet week we think. But does Floris feel the same? When I try to put myself in this small Drents shoes while he now lies at my feet I’m sure he experienced it very different. Every day is a kind of party to him. Busy schedule or not..
Every morning we he welcomes us like we were gone for a week. Any bad moods really disappears when you are greeted with such enthusiasm. To be clear; the rest of the pack is also very happy but you see them thinking; Floor, act normal they (us) come back every day again!
It remains beautiful to see how quickly the pack is adapted to each other. Floris learns every day from the others. Also the less good things but those come for free.. So he climbs on your lap and wash your ears. Literally … Because yes, Geoff does too. If the dishwasher is filled, there are now five Drents standing around it. When we cooke a full kitchen staff is there ready to assist. Sleeping you do on the couch. Our bank that is. Why? The rest of the pack does it too …
Floris likes to be outside, that is no surprise. You can notice he is accustomed to it from puppyhood. Whether in the garden or in the field Floris has a good time. Like this week as he helped in the garden. the Ivy was pruned his way as was the shrubbery plowed. While we still have to clean up the garden he observes interested from his pillow.
It is not so strange he chews on twigs while gardening. Sometimes he picks up a little rock. This rock he often bring to us. However, the last ‘rock’ he brought was his own tooth. One of the last puppy teeth, because the exchange to adult teeth is almost finished. We are glad because now we can continue hunting training!
Every time Floris is going to the field with us you see he is gets more confident each time. Without the support of the pack all is different. We play games with him. Playing hide and seek he likes very much just like a forward run and return on command. During the last walk he met a very sweet little lady Heidewachtel (Small Munsterlander). Good for socializing. Floris is a real charmer. What will this be when he’s a grown up male! This week when I try to view it as Floris was still very busy…..
